Ball Transfer Tables: Affordably Reduce your Manual Handling Issues

Multi directional ball transfer tables are a cost effective, safe and intelligent way to manipulate heavy objects where access to or from multiple directions is required.

Very minimal pushing or pulling force is required to move heavy objects, therefore helping to reduce potential employee injury through manual handling.

Ball transfer tables can be built specifically for your application in any width or length configuration. They can also be created in both mild steel and stainless steel materials which make them ideal where space restrictions exist.

Side guides and end stops can also be fitted, which prevent the product being moved or from falling off the ball transfer table.

The individual ball transfer units have a weight capacity from 25kg through to 125kg per unit and come in steel, stainless steel or nylon balls. They consist of a large load bearing ball which sits on many smaller balls confined in a semicircular cup. To reduce contamination in dusty environments, a seal can also be incorporated in the design.

A second type of multidirectional transfer is known as an “Omni Wheel” which consists of small rollers mounted on a wheel.

Load Carrying Ability

Any application from lightweight boxed goods through to heavy duty pallets, tooling or large flat products (e.g. marble, stone) can be accommodated for. This involves varying the pitch of the individual ball units to alter the ball transfer tables’ carrying capacity.

Safe & Cost Effective

Ball transfer tables require minimal pushing or pulling forces are required to move bulky and heavy products. They are very useful where access to multiple directions are required, for example when tooling refurbishments or tooling size changes are required. They also cater for changes of direction and are easily completed without the need for costly and complicated powered solutions.

The ball transfer units do not require ongoing lubrication, and so are virtually maintenance free. The units are pre-lubricated from the factory, and only require periodic cleaning to maintain trouble free operation.
