OVERVIEW: HEAVY DUTY OR HIGH SPEED

Slat chain conveyors use parallel chains to drive the slats. Polymer slats are used extensively in food and beverage manufacturing, and in light industrial applications. Steel or timber slats are used in heavy duty or high impact applications, usually at low speed.

HEAVY DUTY: STEEL OR TIMBER SLATS

Heavy-duty slat conveyors are generally “built for purpose” conveyors that combine heavy interconnecting slats mounted onto parallel running conveyor chains.

They are used where product loads are high or where impact loading is experienced.

Slats of hardwood timber or steel connected to heavy capacity parallel chains are often used in freight handling applications where load-on impacts are high and in other areas of continual heavy use.

Heavy manufacturing / assembly operations such as hot water heater assembly, air conditioner or generator assembly will often use steel slats.

These are generally a lighter style of conveyor construction that uses moulded polymer chain versions for many product-handling applications.

Common uses are beverage industry (bottles and cans), and manufacturing industries (Pharmaceutical, cosmetics, detergents and personal hygiene products).

Polymer slat chains are available to suit virtually any product (cans, bottles, tubes, packets, sacks, envelopes, cartons, trays and raw foodstuffs etc.)
